Almond Short Bread Biscuits
I have seen them in many Greek bakeries and they are called Kourabiedes. The children love the icing sugar sprinkled on top.
Recipe: Granma Yvonne
185 gr butter at room temperature
3 cups cake flour
1tsp baking powder
1 cup icing sugar
1 egg yolk
1tsp brandy or vanilla essence
Work 2 tbsp icing sugar into the butter
Add the egg yolk and brandy
Sift flour and baking powder and add to butter.
Mix lightly until the mixture reaches a sandy texture.
Add milk and gather dough into a ball
Shape into little crescents and push one clove into each ball
Bake in preheat oven 190 oven for 10 to 15 min. Do not allow to brown
When cool, deep each biscuit into icing sugar and place on grease proof paper.
