One of the dishes that are always praised when part of my Pesach platter. So simple and yet loved by everyone. It is suppose to represent the mortar used by our ancestor to build the pyramids of Egypt, some recipe call for scrape of real bricks instead of cinnamon!!! (maybe that is the secret ingredient)!

Dry fruit:

A handful of black raisin

5 dates

2 prunes

2 figs

10 almonds

5 walnuts

Fresh Fruit:

2 apples peel and chopped

Skin of one orange

Juice of 2 oranges

1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Kosher wine

  • Place the above ingredients less the wine in a food processor and mix them, until there is a smooth texture. Shape like meatballs, and when time to use serve, pour some wine and mix well. The mixture should still be quite solid.
